Dana White, the CEO of the UFC, has a no-nonsense attitude when it comes to fighters seeking fame through association with his brand. At a Tuff-N-Uff event in Las Vegas, White and his team were present to witness an impressive display of skill, including a four-second knockout by UFC staff member Sal Everett. However, the fighter who truly captured attention that evening was David Goldenberg, a New Jersey native, who improved his record to 3-0 with a victory over De'Aundre Tipton. Goldenberg's post-fight interview, however, was more memorable for its bold and controversial nature.
Goldenberg's interview included a series of insults directed at White, such as, 'Dana White! Better wake up, motherfuckers, next big thing is here, so get your checkbook ready, let's make some money!' This interview quickly went viral, prompting White to respond with a mix of amusement and disdain.
White's reaction, posted on a Happy Punch, was less than amused, stating, 'Worst fight of the night. Stunk the place up with his performance and then talks like he put on the Fight of the Night. The fight after his was a woman's fight that made his fight look even shittier.' He then praised Smilla Sundell's performance, suggesting that her fight was superior to Goldenberg's.
Veteran fighters Damien Brown and Ode Osbourne also weighed in, with Brown calling it the 'Dumbest call for a shot ever' and Osbourne offering a lesson in how not to secure a UFC contract. Despite the initial backlash, Goldenberg's actions have undoubtedly brought him the attention he sought.
